When educating him about hemophilia, it might be helpful to arm your child with the important facts about complying with the therapy advised by his physician. His understanding might just make factor days easier for both of you!

According to Regina B. Butler, RN and Karen Wulff, RN there are 4 things to consider teaching your child about complying with his physician-recommended therapy:

1. Know his regimen
2. Have a reminder system or plan
   
3. Know the timing of the dose
   
4. Recognize patterns of factor level fluctuation, including an understanding of how long the drug remains in the body (sometimes called half-life)

Keep him involved with his treatment:
